278. Song No. 4,192: “Halloween,” Matt Pond PA
Several Arrows Later, 2005
Nearly 10 years later and despite month after preparatory month of listening to this album almost exclusively to make sure I didn’t miss a single note of a single song come concert time, it seems like “Halloween” will forever sound like singing along at the top of my lungs in the front row of some NYC venue with bestie when we caught the last show of the Several Arrows Later anniversary tour just days after my birthday.
I love Matt Pond’s music. And I love going to concerts with BFF. And I love New York, especially in the spring. And it’s hard to reconcile that combining all of those things I love into one evening probably won’t ever happen again, even if those anniversary shows celebrating so many of my favorite albums were to make the triumphant return I’m dying to throw irresponsible wads of dollars at.
So here’s some photos from that concert, which were almost photos from MPPA’s return to New York six months later because I apparently can’t tell the difference between Webster Hall and the Bowery Ballroom when rifling through digital photo albums, even with what should have been a clarifying setlist shot for reference.
